Jenny Walsh, PhD

Jenny Walsh PhD has over 25 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Healthcare Industry, where she held various roles in Pharmaceutical Development and Medical Affairs (GlaxoSmithKline, Napp Research Centre, The Boots Company, Reckitt Benckiser and AstraZeneca). She has worked in diverse therapy areas in both early phase and late stage development, and on the formulation and development of oral, intranasal, parenteral and topical pharmaceutical dosage forms.

 

One of her key areas of expertise is the development of pediatric medicines; working with both SMEs and global pharmaceutical companies, she has actively contributed to over 30 global pediatric development projects, including Pediatric Investigation Plans (PIPs) and Pediatric Study Plans (PSPs), and was responsible for the successful delivery and agreement of an European Union (FP7) funded PIP in collaboration with a multi-national consortium.

Jenny is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and is a founder member of the European Pediatric Formulation Initiative (EuPFI) with whom she has authored numerous publications. She currently provides specialist pharmaceutical development support to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and not-for-profit organizations, with a particular focus on pediatric medicines. Walsh was awarded her Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology, and her PhD in pharmaceutical drug delivery from the University of Nottingham UK.
