Scientific Advisory Board
EDI has gathered a world-class advisory board led by pharmaceutical industry veteran Dr. Ted Torphy PhD. The SAB comprises of a panel of pharmaceutical industry experts with extensive experience in the drug discovery, small molecule, gene therapy and biologics, pre-clinical & clinical development, chemistry-manufacturing-controls (CMC), pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, drug safety, regulatory affairs, venture capital financing, business development, marketing and commercialization. Board members also have extensive experience in the development of small molecule, biologics and oligonucleotide/gene-therapy based products.
Peter Young, 1949-2025
We were saddened to learn of the passing of Peter Young, a valued member of our Scientific Advisory Board, advocate, and friend to EDI, on February 4, 2025. Peter, a Senior Venture Partner at Pappas Capital, was a highly respected leader in the life sciences field, with over 40 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. For the past three years, he has been an invaluable advisor to EDI, guiding portfolio development and investment opportunities. Peter was passionate about mentoring young faculty and supporting early-stage science, always sharing his expertise with great care and thoughtfulness. He played an instrumental role in advising numerous academic teams within the life science ecosystem. Peter’s friendship, insight, and invaluable contributions will be deeply missed by all of us.
