Sebastian Beck Jorgensen

Novo Nordisk

Sebastian Beck Jørgensen is a Senior Medical Advisor at the Novo Nordisk Bio Innovation Hub in Boston, MA with responsibilities including driving co-creative innovative partnerships with biotech and academia to identify and develop novel therapies and technologies.

 

Sebastian earned a master’s degree and a PhD in Biology from the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports, Molecular Physiology Section, University of Copenhagen in 2001 and 2005 respectively. Subsequently, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the St Vincent’s Institute of Medial Research in Melbourne, Australia.  Throughout his academic tenure, Sebastian’s research interests included metabolic dysregulations leading to obesity and diabetes, hormonal factors influencing appetite, and metabolic adaptions of skeletal muscles to exercise.  He has a strong scientific

publication background and his findings have been published in several top tier peer-reviewed journals.

 

In 2009, Sebastian joined the Danish research division of Novo Nordisk where he held various position including Principal Scientist and later, Project Manager.  In these roles, Sebastian’s responsibilities included project management, drug discovery & development, and facilitating innovation and management of external research collaborations.   

 

Sebastian relocated from Denmark to Boston after being appointed Senior Medical Advisor at the Novo Nordisk Innovation Hub in August 2021.
